On Saturday 10th October members from the WPA and the Rotary Sustainability group, thirteen people in all, worked extremely hard to create a wonderful native garden and pathway on the Roma St side of the hall.
A grant from Penrith City Council for a sustainable garden was put to great use in creating a new space of beauty at our community hall. Thank you to everyone for the hard work.
The vision for the future is that this garden will become a beautiful place for members of the community to take photos of special occasion.
WPA is planning an Australia Day picnic at the hall to celebrate our new garden and to raise a new Australian flag on the hall grounds. We are hoping all the community will come along and celebrate our Australian heritage. Ideas are welcome from members of our village to contribute to the fun of this day.The Wallacia Progress Association meets the 4th Tuesday of each month: the next meeting 26th October. All are welcome to come along and join us to have a say and make a difference in all aspects of our village environment
Wallacia Progress Hall is available for hire it’s a great place for children’s parties and other celebrations. We also have chairs for hire from the hall.
Regular events at Hall: Yoga group: Monday 10.30am; Meditation group: Mondays 8pm; Studio E dance group meets Thursday and Fridays.
WOW (Woman of Wallacia) meets the second Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm. This is a women’s group that meets for educational purposes, fun, support and conversation and is open to woman of the surrounding area so come along and join us.
The ‘Carry On Room’ attached to the Hall is named after the group that met there for many years. It is a great space for workshops is you want to start a craft group or other type of activity.
